Digital tools, resource mapping, and community stewardship for sustainable village development planning.

Project narrative

The Commons Connect Project focused on strengthening community-led and evidence-based planning for sustainable village development through the use of digital tools.

Using the Commons Connect digital platform, communities were supported to understand their local natural resources, identify development needs, and prepare practical village-level action plans. Community stewards were trained at Panchayat and village levels to support landscape management and participatory planning.

During the project, 10 Panchayat-level and 120 village-level community stewards were capacitated, while 53 village-level DPRs and resource maps were prepared and validated with community participation.

Key focus areas: Digital Planning, Resource Mapping, Natural Resource Management, Community Capacity Building, Participatory Planning.
